Christian Lacroix to produce Avon fragrance.
One of the world's top fashion designers, Christian Lacroix, is set to partner with cosmetics firm Avon to produce two brand new fragrances.
Christian Lacroix Rouge for women and Christian Lacroix Noir for men are set to debut in the UK in September, bringing some of the French couture designer's high-fashion style to Avon customers.
The fragrances have been created with Lacroix's swanky perfumery licensee Interperfums and promise to be "striking, audacious and provocative".
Christian Lacroix Rouge will be a "floral chypre" with top notes of wild red peony and zesty citrus accents, its makers claim, while the Noir version is set to be an "elegant fougere design" with spicy top notes of ginger and saffron.
Avon already sells a number of perfumes and eau de toilettes, but hopes that the partnership will allow it to help women to "feel more special and more beautiful".
Mr Lacroix commented: "By partnering with Avon, the company whose heritage is a virtual celebration of women, I can connect with women everywhere. I envision Rouge becoming the Avon woman's signature, one that's utterly feminine yet mysterious and bold."
Avon recently launched a new fragrance entitled True Glow in the UK, said to be fruity and woody with a blend of lotus blossom and passionflower.
